PERFECT! This was my second visit to Cactus Moon & I’m so in love with the space. The set up is spaced out perfectly, and the decor is so well thought out to every little detail. I loved discovering all of the unique treasures it had to offer. Great location - just far away enough from town to feel the expansive magic of the desert. Love the labyrinth & the management!
I am IN LOVE with the aesthetic design that Caron has created for the house/ entire property. Seriously... the furnishings are top notch beautiful and definitely in the realm of desert chic! The house was the perfect size with enough space for everyone to feel comfortable. We ended up eating outside most of the time and the fire pit was great to have on for dinner and post dinner hangouts. I would MOST DEFINITELY stay at Cactus Moon again.

Cactus Moon was a dream for our group. It is a beautiful, comfortable, light filled, beautifully furnished space with plenty of spaces for people to gather and connect and share. It is so well loved and well taken care of and only a short drive into town and to the park. The pool was a dream. The privacy of the property and its outdoor spaces was a sacred container. I will definitely be back!
Cactus Moon is a truly magical property. I hosted a Kundalini Yoga & Meditation Retreat in June, and was looking for an authentic and approachable desert property with a five-star vibe. Cactus Moon did not disappoint. The retreat center and grounds are beautifully appointed with every detail carefully and lovingly considered. The sleeping accommodations are top-tier and common rooms are designed to support fellowship and community. The separate Purple Cactus yoga house was a key feature for us and became our spiritual sanctuary. I highly recommend this property, its caring and responsive owner/management team, and its enchantment that continues to unfold over the hours and days of your stay.
We just finished our 5 day mini-retreat in Joshua Tree at Cactus Moon. I cannot say enough amazing things about this venue and each tiny perfect detail that was put into making our stay comfortable!
The rooms are all tastefully and simply adorned with Very comfy beds, fresh towels and also pool towels for that afternoon dip.
We loved the outdoor spaces, especially having delicious family style dinners out by the fire pit at sunset.
There is also a labyrinth, pool and hammocks/pool chairs/ and a great yoga studio that fit our group of 12 perfectly.
We were close enough to Joshua tree downtown,pioneer town and some great coffee shops to explore, and the farmers market on Saturday was super fun.
The hikes behind the house were gorgeous and allowed us each some quiet time early in the morning or after sunset when it cooled off.
We are over the moon with our stay, and you will be too! Book Cactus moon for your next retreat!

Highly recommend this space for a retreat. It is thoughtfully set up and made to make you feel very comfortable and held by the mountains. The house is fully furnished indoor and outdoor and stocked well with towels, blankets, flashlights, serving dishes and more. A property small enough for everyone to feel together yet big enough to feel like you can separate and have private space as well. It was a pleasure to work with the owners as well as they were very kind and helpful. I will likely be back!
Why I love Cactus Moon:
How can a place be so elegant while also feeling so deeply homey and incredibly soothing? Cactus Moon is truly a work of art. Every detail has been carefully considered and every corner curated by the owner, Caron Post, to create wonder, peace, and inspiration. Its unassuming mid-century desert-vibe exterior makes the low-key bohemian palace interior all the more amazing. The shelves are full of books I want to peruse, from Georgia O' Keefe watercolors to cookbooks to books on shamanism and film. The whole house is illuminated by desert light. Handmade tile floors beg to be walked upon barefoot. I love the linens, the pottery serving bowls, the baskets and platters that make every dish I serve, shine. I could go on and on about all the things that make it hard to leave this house! In my mind, the best art reflects and expresses the paradoxical elements of Nature itself, and my favorite art is the kind you can experience with your whole being. Cactus Moon is so much more than a gorgeous place to stay. It is a transformative experience of Beauty, Light, and Art to drink into one's soul. (Also-- it has a lovely, heated pool, cabana rooms, and a beautiful, very large yoga room!)
